Shaun Summers Cott – Abigail Adams
Shaun is delighted to portray Abigail Adams, a role that resonates deeply with her upbringing in Teaneck, NJ, where equality and social conscience shaped her worldview. After a thirty-year hiatus from acting to focus on her accounting career and raising two daughters, a move back to NYC reignited her passion. There, she took classes and performed in stage productions, indie films, and even background work on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She’s especially grateful to Director Frank Blocker for warmly welcoming her into Southwest Florida’s theater community when she moved to the area six years ago. Her favorite local roles include Sister Acacius in The Divine Sister and Sumner in Men on Boats. Shaun admits it took her over a year to memorize Abigail’s lines, but the challenge left her confident she will never be daunted by a script again. She is immensely thankful for the unwavering support of her husband, and for the friends and family who make the time to see her perform; it means the world to her.
